The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) sought to demonstrate through storytelling how boys and men can be allies with women in reducing violence and creating more equitable societies. This story, reported from India, gives audiences a look at how an ICRW program uses the sport of cricket to challenge young men’s beliefs about manhood and women’s role in society. It also shows how the effort is making a difference for one young man and his family. The program expanded greatly over four years and was covered repeatedly in the Indian press. ICRW continues to address through research and policy analysis the role that men and boys play in empowering women and achieving gender equality.
